Compact Drilling fluids System for HDD

Always compact drilling fluids system is welcome for horizontal directional drilling(HDD).
Compact represents cost saving in transportation&labor, easy for maintenance, smaller footprint, etc.

I am very interested in the different compact drilling fluids system designs in market. I respect our competitor and in some aspect, their good work helps us to think and grow.

Have a look at the below Triflo compact HDD system 100GPM-150GPM

Compact HDD System 100GPM-150GPM
1x shale shaker
1xmud cleaner (4x4" desilter+bottom shaler shaker)
1x mud hopper
3x pump-2x3 centrifuge pump 5.5kw
( one for desilter, one for mud mixing, the last one for pumping the mud from the tank back to the drilling)
1xtank overall size: 1.5x5.4x1.8m, tank size:1.5x2.7x1.8m

Advantage:
  • Small footprint
  • In the 3 pumps, including the pump to have the mud back to the drilling use
  • 2 stage of separating: shale shaker-mud cleaner with desilter

Disadvantage:
  • The tank body without the folds decrease the loading strength.
Taking our tank body panel as below for example, the folds on the body can avoid the shape transformation, then strengthen the load ability.
Brightway Mud Tank
  • 3x2 centrifugal pump, 5.5kw, from my knowledge, such pump flow is about 20 m3/h, about 88GPM, I wonder if it can meet the requirement of the 4x 4" desilters?
  • Such compact HDD system, I can not see the walkways and guardrail.
  • From the aspect of separating stages, it is without the desander stage.

In general, this Triflo system is the compact one and only the end user can tell the final treatment effect is good or not.

The above is only my thoughts from my understanding read from the picture.

How we Brightway design the compact HDD system?

We want to do the 2 in 1 mud system or 3 in 1 system including the 3 separation stages of shale shaker, desander and desilter and the mud mixing hopper, with the size as 5.5x2.3x1.8m, Volume about 10 m3, capacity about 250GPM.

Attractive, isn't it?
